I'm going to make a Capture-The-Flag Shooter, similar to the map Elimination Tournament.
I have not entirely decided all of what I'll be doing, but since I know exactly how to code everything down it should come along very quickly.
The Multi-Board will feature the following information:
Kills, Deaths, Money From Kills, Damage Dealt, and Damage Taken.

Effects
(Psychological)Shock
Effect -25% Move Speed for 1.5 seconds
Event Take more than 25% of your max hp in damage within 1 second

Crippled
Effect -50% Move Speed for 5 seconds
Event 33.33% chance to occur when taking 50+% of your current hp in damage within 1 second

Weapons
Note: All damage numbers are based on a player's maximum starting HP
When suggesting a gun, remember that the total %s, added up, will be 400%


Rifle
Damage 45%
Bullet Speed 180%
Range 150%
Cooldown 25%

Uzi
Damage 40% (Split into 8 bullets)
Bullet Speed 100%
Range 50%
Cooldown 210%

Shotgun
Damage 30% (Split into 5 bullets)
Bullet Speed 50%
Knockback 200(%)
Range 40%
Cooldown 80%

Items

Shrapnel Grenade
Type Thrown Weapon
Damage 75% (15 shards fly outwards)
Area of Effect 300
Effect 1% DPS for 10 seconds

Concussion Grenade
Type Thrown Weapon
Damage 30%
Area of Effect 250
Effect 50% slow for 2 seconds
Knockback 300

Flame Grenade
Type Thrown Weapon
Damage 50%
Area of Effect 350
Effect Lights the ground on fire for 5 seconds, anybody that is effected by it lights on fire, for 5% DPS for 10 seconds.

Barricade
Type Fortification
Health 200
Effect A small blockade, will stop movement and projectiles.

Forcefield
Type Temporary Fortification
Health 200
Duration 10 seconds
Effect Will block any projectiles from entering at the cost of its health.

I suggest an array of melee range weapons be added. Perhaps, a single gun and a single melee weapon can be held, but only one used at a single time—or two melee weapons/two guns, etc. (And also have different effects). It could be as simple as two guns being shot at the time (with the restriction of some guns), and also having some guns/weapons that must require the user to hold nothing else, to bear them (described as 1H or 2H).

Also, try and describe soon, how the "400% stat/gun system" works, so people may suggest weapons.

Also, add a bullet # system. This helps against anti-camping, and is probably my most important idea for a gun-game like ET. This could add things to the map, such as bullet drops everywhere.

I also suggest (if you still use this 400% system), there are only 10% intervals on everything, to keep it simple (I don't think 2-9% change will make a difference).

Note: I am taking a guess at how the 400% system works, when I make these items
Club - 1H Weapon
Damage 200%
Bullet Speed N/A (This should be removed and replaced with something else)
Range 10%
Cooldown 190% (going by higher percent = better cd?)


My final suggestion for now, is: make one map terrain (not too large), make 4 guns, and 1 character (if you want a class system, do that later). This will help get things going fast if you ever are in a slump—save what you enjoy doing later (if it's guns, or making terrain, try and hold back on that until the essentials are complete).

This Club will deal 200% of base starting HP, which is an instant kill, it won't fit.
Also, how does a melee weapon "(Split into 8 bullets)"?
Also, yes, higher % is better no matter what field it is in.

You have 400 units to spend on a weapon.
You can place 50 into damage, that's 350 left, then you could place 200 into Range, so you have 150 left.
It's a system to make sure that every weapon is balanced.

Ah... so if I put 100 into damage, and it does 50 pecent, it will do 50 damage?

Damage, specifically, deals a % of the starting HP.
If you put 100 points into damage, it will be an instant kill gun, and I won't accept it.
50 points into damage will be 50% of the starting HP in damage.
This means that if starting HP is 100, then it'll deal 50 damage, if starting HP is 200, then it will deal 100 damage.

So basiacly, these guns can't get any stronger then your starting HP, and they can almost 1 shot ppl?
